Saturday 8th May saw Lofthouse Brass Band bound for Buxton.
The competition saw five brass bands compete for the North West Spring Festival title.
Set to recreate their 2016 Yorkshire Regional Championships winning performance, the Band put on a fantastic performance of Peter Graham’s The Journal of Phileas Fogg. The adjudicator for the day, Sarah Groarke-Booth, commented ‘It was a great piece to listen to. The winning band played very well, and got the styles just right. The waltz section was my favourite section in the piece and the solo cornet nailed the Spanish style cadenza. Thanks for your performance, this was a great piece to adjudicate.’
The band’s next performance will be on Saturday 14th May at Outwood WMC, 12.30pm for their Grand Prize Draw. FREE ENTRY!
