On Wednesday 30th April 8pm at Kenwyn Theatre, Truro College - St Austell Town Band perform the Music of Daniel Hall!
Daniel Hall began cornet lessons with Anna Minear at the age of 11 and after only a few months was invited to join St Austell Junior Band. Now taught by David Mumford G Mus, Daniel's high mark for his grade 4 Associated Board exam led him to be appointed principal cornet of the Junior Band just a year after joining.
Soon after, he was invited to play for St Austell Town Band and attended rehearsals in early 2010. In his first year with the band Daniel played in over twenty concerts and four contests. In 2012 Daniel was voted as the St Austell Town Band, "Players Player".
In Daniel's spare time he took to composing & arranging music for Brass Band, and St Austell Band have enjoyed rehearsing & performing many of Dan's pieces. At the beginning of 2014 the band's Musical Director, Aaron Harvey, felt it was time we organised a concert to feature Daniel's compositions. Wednesday 30th April 8pm was the date chosen by Dan, and we now look forward to performing the concert to include 10 original works by Daniel. As an extra special feature of this concert, Daniel will be conducting the band for this evening.
Entry is FREE and we really hope that people will come and enjoy listening to Daniel's music. One of the pieces has already won a National Competition and is performed at the Royal Opera House!
