The weekend of Saturday 2nd of May saw the birth of the newest member of the Royal Family coinciding with Besses Boys Band performing to huge crowds at St James' Park. The Royal Park sits on the left hand side of the mall heading towards Buckingham Palace. The announcement of the Royal birth meant there were thousands of well wishers heading toward the palace, many walking through the park. The band waylaid many of these for a time whilst they performed a varied programme with Classic repertoire such as the march Mephistopheles, Peter Grahams Call of the Cossacks and a stunning arrangement of Abide with me. The day was rounded off with an encore of Happy by Pharell Williams. Speaking about the day BBB MD James Holt said
"It has been fantastic to perform in such a prestigious venue to such a large and responsive audience, the comments we have received both during and since the performance have been overwhelming and we have now received support on social media from France, Lithuania and Sweden. We now hope to make this an annual event for the band.
