The Besses Boys Band have just returned from a successful tour of Cornwall having performed three concerts during a five day stay in the south of the country.
The first event was a joint concert with the local St Austell Town band in the picturesque surroundings of the St Austell Parish Church, with both bands performing individually before a rousing massed finale featuring a double trio of trombones in Goff Richards I will Follow Him, Prelude on 49th Parallel and Philip Sparke's arrangement of John Miles classic Music.
The band then performed at the West Pier of St Ives as well as a concert in the famous Padstow Harbour. At both of these events the band performed a wide variety of repertoire including fantastic solo features from Tom Ridgley, Claire Holt, Laura Emsley, Phil Goodwin and Joel Rongong with encores demanded by the crowds at both venues.
Speaking about the event MD James Holt commented
This has been a fantastic tour, as a band we love to get out and perform in as many wide and varying places as possible. The St Austell Town band have our whole hearted thanks for their help in both organising the joint concert and providing much needed local knowledge. The audiences at all events have been so receptive and the band have received fantastic feedback. Plans are already underway for our next tour.
