More news from Indian Queens Band
Indian Queens Band started their season in style with a trip to Killacourt, in Newquay, on Sunday 14th June. After a worrying weather report the day before, the sun shone through, giving a pleasant day for all, along with some great brass band music. Mark Arnold conducted the band, in his debut event, through pieces like “One Moment In Time”, “The James Bond Theme” and a big favourite of many bands, “Slaidburn”. The event had many individual performances with a cornet solo, trombone duet, euphonium duet and a horn section quartet. The band really enjoyed their first outing and would like to thank everyone that came, and will hopefully see your support again.
This starts a very busy summer for the band with trips to the Ship Inn, Par (starting on Sunday 28th June, from 2:30pm), many carnivals (including St Columb, St Stephen and Delabole), and ending the season with trips to Exmouth Entertainments Contest (Saturday 5th September) and the CBBA Diamond Jubilee Contest at the Hall For Cornwall (Saturday 17th October). You can see the band at the Indian Queens Pit Fete on Saturday 27th June from 2:30pm, and of course Indian Queens Band Week 2015 (18th – 25th July), which will be holding some new events this year.
