Wolverton Town Band is delighted to have appointed Jeffrey Ginn as its new Musical Director.
Jeffrey is a locally-based classical music recording producer and engineer, and has worked in the recording industry for over 20 years. He began his involvement in brass banding whilst at school in North Yorkshire, playing the E flat bass (tuba), before studying music and sound recording at Surrey University.
Jeffrey sees his experience in the recording industry as key to his approach to band training. He is excited to be taking on a band that is already in good health, having benefitted from the recent good work of previous Musical Director, Paul Welch, and both its long-standing and new members.
Jeffrey will play a key role in developing Wolverton Town Band, preparing it for its playing commitments and conducting at its performances. In particular, he will prepare the band for its part in Wolverton’s twinning weekend on 1st and 2nd June when the town will be visited by representatives from Ploegsteert in Belgium.
Commenting further on his appointment, Jeffrey said: “I'm delighted to accept the invitation to be Wolverton Town Band’s new Musical Director. I’m looking forward to having fun, making fine music and helping build the band for the future.”
