Summer Concert Success
Members of GYB Future Brass entertained friends, family and other guests at their informal end of term concert on Friday evening.
The first half of the concert was performed by the Training Band (see photo). Their programme was on the theme of a Royal Visit to Yarmouth, and included Grand Fanfare, Skye Boat Song, Sandcastles, Summer Tango, Mini March, Happy Birthday and God Save the Queen. There were also several solos items, duets and trios.
The baritone section was awarded the Summer Team Points Challenge Trophy, and the Band were pleased to learn that they had jointly managed (by effort, attitude and regular attendance) to pass the 1000 points target required to earn a night bowling!
After a break for some superb refreshments, it was the turn of the Intermediate Band to perform. It was good to see that three members of the Training Band have now joined the ranks of the Intermediate Band.
Their programme included a hymn, the popular march Slaidburn, Batman, Football Crazy medley, Gospel Rock, and ended with Grease.
GYB Future Brass will next be performing on Sunday 13th September at Priory Gardens, Gorleston at 11 am.
Future Brass rehearse on Fridays during term time at Gorleston Baptist Church from 6 pm. New players, especially beginners, are always welcome.
