Lancashire Contests have annouced that British Open Youth at the Guild Festival will take place together with Brass at the Guild 2014 in the Guild Hall Charter Theatre on Sunday 2nd February 2014. The prestigious British Open brass band title will be awarded with kind permission of Karyn & Martin Mortime.
The format of the competition is a 20 minute own choice programme of entertaining music plus a short set piece provided by the organisers that will be available to the competiting bands.
The contest which will be pre drawn will feature open adjudication will be in the open.
The following prizes will be awarded:
- 1st place Trophy and £300
- 2nd place Trophy and £200
- 3rd place Trophy and £100
- All bands will receive a British Open certificate of participation.
- The band judged to have performed the best set work will be awarded.
- The best soloist will offered 5 free lessons by Mr Paul Andrews.
The winning band will play their winning programme at the conclusion of the Championship Section in the Guild Hall.
