On Monday 25th November at Morley Town Hall, Black Dyke Band recorded a film soundtrack for a new 90 minute film about the life and work of the politician, Tony Benn.
The music was composed by Michel Duvoisin, Bafta nominated and Winner of Berlin Film Festival Best Documentary, Royal Reel Award Canada International Festival, BBC2 Greenlight Award, John Lennon Songwriting Award.
A spokesman from the band said "We recorded the theme music and a number of atmospheric stings, and with Michel conducting we all got a real insight to the conception of this great composer and Maestro."
The Director Sanjay Kumar was present throughout the recording session, and insisted he “wanted to be where all the action was, and was thrilled with the result." Interestingly, the recording session was also filmed.
The film, expected to be released in late Spring 2014, is called Will And Testament.
