~~Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band would like to welcome a new player to the ranks after covering the vacant seat for the Midland 1st section area.
The band welcome Kieron Brice to the Soprano cornet chair from Rockingham Band. Kieron has been a long term friend of the band and we are very lucky to secure his services which were in high demand not just on Soprano but on Bb Cornet as well.
Commenting on the appointment MD Ian Knapton said “ It’s great to welcome Kieron to the band, he is a player I have known for over 20 years having met back when we played together in Trowbridge Youth Brass Band at a couple of events. Kieron brings with him a lot of experience and takes over from Julian Holling who had filled the Soprano Cornet seat for us at the Midland Area and had done a great job. I would like to thank Julian for his time and commitment over that period and the distance he travelled to get to band for us”
Kieron’s first contest appearance with the band will be at Buxton contest in May.
The only seat vacant in the band now is the Solo Euph seat and the band are on the look to fill this soon.
