Wingates Band have announced that Paul Andrews has accepted the position of Musical Director with immeidate effect.
He has been recently working with the band following Andy Berryman's return to Abu Dhabi and has taken Wingates to the Brighouse March & Hymn contest in June where the band were awarded 3rd place and picked up the Deportment prize
He has also led the band for a recording to mark the band's 140th Anniversary year which will be aired on Wed 28th August on BBC Radio 2.
Paul was solo euphonium with the Leyland Band in the 1980's but is now more widely known for his conducting achievements with Wire Brass and is currently conductor with the Golbourne Band. He will continue in this role and as such we look forward to developing bonds between the two bands.
His first official engagement with the band will take place on Wed 11th Sept at Rivington Barn.
