Dr Robert Childs has decided to relinquish his position as Associate Music Director at Black Dyke Band.

Bob cited a variety of reasons for his departure but emphasised how much he had enjoyed working with the Band and everyone associated with it during his short tenure.

Commenting on his resignation Bob said, "I'm in no rush to leave, I'm looking forward to assisting Nick in the preparation for the Open. My final appearance with the Band will be sometime in October which will coincide nicely with the start of the new semester at the Royal Welsh College of Music."

Nick commented "it is always sad when you lose a person of Bob's calibre especially when he is your brother, but everyone at Black Dyke wishes him all the best for the future.
