Harlow Brass Band achieved a second place on their return to the contesting stage at the recent ODBBA contest. This was the bands first contest for over 10 years since their last appearance at the East Anglican BBA Contest in 2003.

There was further success on the day with cornet player Roy Frost winning the soloist prize.

A spokesman for the band told Empty Chairs: "A great day for all the band and looking forward to moving up the prizes next time."
