Friezland band have appointed Max Stannard as their new Musical Director. The band are looking forward to working with this young, enthusiastic and very capable MD. Max is a published composer and arranger, and has already brought new repertoire down to the first rehearsal. He has played trombone in a number of bands in the North West and Midlands and studied conducting at Lancaster University. Max founded UniBrass in 2011 and joined BBE as a Trustee in 2015, accepting a role in organising the National Youth Championships. Under their new MD, Friezland are now turning their attention to filling their empty chairs, with vacancies on cornet and horn, and preparing for a range of exciting concerts ahead. The band offer a warm welcome to any players who fancy a blow on a Thurday night, 7.30-9.30 at Uppermill Conservative Club, OL3 6AP.
