Bristol East and Kingswood Band based in Hanham, Bristol have recently appointed the up and coming young conductor Ben Vleminckx as their new resident musical director.
Ben is a recent graduate from Bath Spa University where he studied for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. As a percussionist Ben began brass banding at a young age firstly in Helston Town Band then moving to Camborne Band. With his move to Bath, Ben then played for bands in Wales and Gloucester whilst studying. Ben said "As a young professional it's a great opportunity to return the service as a musical director to a banding community, as it did so much for me whilst growing up". Ben continued "I have great ambitions for building the band and pushing them forward as much as I can."
The band are pleased to have a young and enthusiastic MD on board. With Ben's ambition for the band, we look forward to seeing the band moving upwards.
There are still a number of vacancies. If you are interested in joining the band please contact in confidence by Phone: 07528596251 or Email: info@beakband.co.uk.
