More news from Black Dyke
Following the departure of Ian Yates and Matt Wade on euphonium and Bb Tuba respectively from Black Dyke they have announced a new signing.
Joining them on euphonium is the young and exceptional talented Dan Thomas, the recipient of the British Open Solo Award.
Dan, who starts his studies at the RNCM in September, takes up his position with Black Dyke after the British Open. Dan commented "I have had a great time at Tredegar and Cory but the chance to be part of such an illustrious and great band is truly a dream come true. I am looking forward to working with this talented group of musicians, and of course their conductor, Nicholas Childs."
Black Dyke’s Nicholas Childs is naturally delighted with his new signing “it is always a challenge finding the right player to join Black Dyke, but Dan is an exceptional find and I look forward to helping develop his playing over the forthcoming years.”
"Everyone at Black Dyke would like to take the opportunity of thanking Ian and Matt for their good work and wish them well in the future."
