Blaenavon Town Band are pleased to announce the signing of our new Bass Trombone player Ethan Corcoran.
Ethan joins the band following in the footsteps of a rich family history, stretching back to 1940 when Great Grandfather Ron Protherough joined the band. Ethan is the fourth generation of his family to take a position at Blaenavon with the Protherough family giving in excess of 150 years service to the organisation.
Ethan's Grandfather - Gareth Protherough joined in 1953 at the age of 13 and played for the band for 50 years. Ethan's Grandfather John Corcoran is a member of the band giving over 13 years service and Mum Joanne Corcoran (nee Protherough) has played with the band for 35 years.
Ethan started playing at the age of 3 getting his first trombone for Christmas! He has played with Blaenavon Junior Band and Gwent Youth ensembles. He has now made the move up to the Town Band playing proudly along side Mum and Grandfather Joanne and John Corcoran.
Ethan's has joined the band in time for Fishguard sharing his first competition along side newly appointed conductor Lynne Turner.
