Cubbington Silver Band is saddened to announce the immediate departure of Alexander Webb as Musical Director of the band. After three and a half years leading the band with several contest successes and a period of rebuilding, Alexander felt it was the right time to leave the band to focus on his professional conducting career. The band wishes Alexander every success for the future and thanks him for his hard work, professionalism and dedication over the last few years.
Whilst the search has begun for a new Musical Director, the band is delighted to announce that during the interim period, Gary Smallwood has kindly agreed to conduct the band. Gary has had a number of successes with the band, leading them to victory at the Midlands Area Championships in 2009 in the third section and then to third place in the National Finals that year.
The band is currently seeking applications for a new enthusiastic musical director to begin in March.
