More news from

Old Silkstone Band are pleased to announce that the very talented Sam Fisher has agreed to lead the band to the Yorkshire Regional contest in March.

Sam, a brass tutor and music teacher from the Wakefield area, has a wealth of experience both as a player - with bands such as Brighouse and Rastrick, Carlton Main Frickley and Grimethorpe Colliery and also as MD of the West Yorkshire Police Band.

Sam came along recently to offer his help to the band for their recent and very successful “Noel Fest” Christmas event in December. Sam obviously enjoyed working with the band, and was very happy to offer his services in preparing and leading the band to Bradford in March.
