More news from Hammonds Saltaire Band

Hammonds Saltaire Band have enjoyed a rehearsal taken by Dudley Bright, the principal trombone of the London Symphony Orchestra.

Dudley spent an evening with them in the run up to the English Nationals contest to rehearse his own composition, Pursuing Horizons. The piece was originally written for an orchestral brass group and then expanded as a massed band piece as part of the celebrations of 120 years of the International Staff Band.

The piece has now been scored for a single band to play and it was this version the the Hammonds Saltaire Band played at the recent contest.

A spokeman for the band commentated: "We would like to offer our thanks to Dudley for taking the time to travel up to Huddersfield and spending the evening giving us an in-site into his composition."
