Whit Friday through the eyes of Deepcar Band

Multi-media producer Russell Cavanagh took the opportunity to make a short feature on the Deepcar Band as they made their way around the Saddleworth circuit this year to give a taste of what it’s like for a band to take part in the famous Whit Friday contests.

Russell said that he had a great time as he filmed the band in action as well as talking to players of rival bands - some in better states of preparation and attire than others!

"It was a wonderful opportunity to try something different with Deepcar. MD Lindon Bolt and the players really bought into the concept and off we went."
It was a great occasion and made all the better by the band having such an enjoyable time - including a victory in the Fourth Section at Diggle!"

Russell is keen to try and do other features with bands, so if you would like to get something along the same lines, why not give him a shout at
