More news from Malvern Hills District Brass Band
On Saturday 17th May the Band helped to celebrate the marriage of two of our members: Carly Taylor and Christopher Wilsdon. Chris is our Principal Cornet player and Carly our super percussionist. They picked the best day of the year as regards the weather, for their wedding, which took place at Lansdowne Methodist Church, Great Malvern, followed by a reception at Deer Park Hall, near Eckington, Pershore. Deer Park Hall is set in the most beautiful surroundings with views of the Malverns, Bredon Hill, and as far as Gloucestershire.
Carly's Mum, Karen, is our principal trombone player, and Chris's Mum, Glynis plays horn, so it was inevitable that they would eventually get together. They both asked if the band could provide a musical interlude during the celebrations, so "Malvern Mini Brass", the ensemble from the "big band" (Malvern Hills District Brass Band) played for their guests during the afternoon. Both Chris and Carly are in "Malvern Mini Brass", so both spent quite a bit of time playing for their guests too.
With Chris and Carly now away on honeymoon, we will be short of cornet players, for a couple of weeks, so if anyone would like to come along, we welcome new members - just visit our website www.malvernhillsbrassband.co.uk for information. Incidentally, Chris also designed our website!
