Sidwell to lead Dobcross Silver Band

Dobcross Silver Band is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Musical Director, Tim Sidwell. Following a series of auditions for the role, Tim is an immensely popular choice with everyone connected to the Band. He achieved outstanding results as Musical Director with Crofton Silver Band and for the last 5 years has been playing with Championship band Hepworth.
Tim’s first engagement with the band was the annual trip to the Durham Miners Gala where they again played in support of the Boldon Colliery Community Banner Group. The Band is currently working on a programme of music for their annual Brass on the Grass concert on the Green in Dobcross, which has now been rescheduled for 15 September.
A spokesperson for Dobcross Silver Band commentated: "The future once again looks bright for the Silver Band, the positive impact of Tim’s arrival already evident with a new spirit and vigour at rehearsals."
