Rainford Brass Band “Slow Melody & Quartet Contest”

The Rainford Band is extremely pleased to announce that the first ever Rainford Band Slow Melody Contest will take place on Sunday 16th February 2014.

The contest will be held in the Rainford Village Hall with refreshments available throughout the day.

The contest will comprise of the following sections through the day, giving players of all ages an opportunity to showcase their talents:

  • 12 & under
  • 16 & under
  • Open age
  • Duets
  • Quartets

FEES:  Slow melody £3.00 per entry per section, Duets £5.00 per entry & Quartets £10.00 per entry.
 
Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded

World renowned Euphonium soloist, David Thornton will be the contest adjudicator.  David has vast playing and adjudicating experience and will provide excellent feedback and advice to budding young soloists.

We hope that you can join us for what promises to be an excellent day all round and to promote local slow melody contests in the North West.
