The Fairey Band have announced that Nigel Beasley has been appointed to the role of Band Manager with immediate effect. Nigel has held this role previously during a ten year stint from 1993 to 2003, a very successful period for the Band which included "a double" and back to back National Finals wins.
Nigel commented: "It's great to be back in the Fairey band room a full decade after my previous involvement! The Band is in great shape and form and I am looking forward to driving progress and developing some exciting future prospects with Garry Cutt and other members of the Band's admin team."
Nigel studied under the legendary Black Dyke solo euphonium Geoff Whitham as one of ten students on the inaugural Brass Band musicianship course at Salford University. After spells with the P.O.E.U Band in Stockport and the Mirrlees Works Band, Nigel joined Wingates Temperance Band in 1978 on solo baritone. In 1981 he moved over to Fodens Motor Works Band in a similar position. After three years at Fodens he moved back to Wingates for a further nine years before accepting an invitation to join the Williams Fairey Band in 1993.
Nigel will be the the first point of contact for all enquiries related to the Band and can be contacted via mobile phone: 07968 375794 or email: n.beasley@faireyband.com
