More news from Brass Bands England

Mad4Brass Bands Day 2013 is all about Making a Difference by telling the world about your band.
Bands up and down the country are participating in some amazing events on MAD4BrassBands Day, ranging from Lanner & District Band who today open their Centre of Musical Excellence, to contests and festivals in Durham, Worcestershire and South Yorkshire, and every kind of event in between – including a joint concert with the world whistling champion by Wakefield Metropolitan Brass Band.
Brass Bands England are encouraging bands to make a difference today by broadcasting good news about their activities.
BBE National Liaison Officer Rachel Veitch-Straw told Empty Chairs: “We are really good at sharing our news and publicity with other bands and players. We are lucky to have thriving and supportive brass band specialist websites and magazines. Brass Bands England would like bands to build on this to attract the attention of “ordinary Joe”. People love the sound of brass– but most have no idea where to find a band or how they could be involved, whether as player, audience or volunteer. MAD4Brass Bands day this year aims to help bands start to change that.”
Brass Bands England will be sharing MAD4BrassBand Day success stories via the usual channels – brass band media outlets, the Brass Bands England Facebook Page, Tumblr blog (http://rachel-brassbandsengland.tumblr.com), or on Twitter at @BrassBandsEng, as well as tempting the national media with some news releases suitable for non-specialist audiences.
