Local business given a top brass send-off
After establishing The Tiny Bakery in New Bradwell a year ago and running it from her house in St Giles Street, the owner, Venetta Leyland, and her family are relocating to Cheshire.
Venetta provides bread to the local community, her neighbours and a local café. She produces lovingly-crafted artisan breads using organic, stoneground flour produced in a local restored watermill. She also runs bread-making classes. She plans to continue her Tiny Bakery business and her classes after the move to Cheshire.
Venetta wanted a brass band send-off and invited Wolverton Town Band to perform at her leaving party for customers, friends and family. The band played outside in St Giles Street. It was a chilly but bright Sunday afternoon and the session was well-received with party-goers and neighbours coming out onto the street to listen, show their support and give the Leylands a hearty send-off.
Venetta was thrilled with the band’s performance: “I absolutely loved the session and so did the guests. Everyone commented on what a fabulous idea it was and what a lovely send-off. We can't thank Wolverton Town Band enough for such a memorable afternoon.”
Hospitality after the performance included hot food, drinks and lots of samples of Venetta’s home-made breads.
