Wolverton Town Band continues its busy start to 2014 with two performances in John Lewis over the May Bank Holiday weekend. The band will play for shoppers in the city’s department store between 11am and 4pm on both Sunday 4 and Monday 5 May.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Jamie Brockwell Memory Page for MK Mind, The Suki Woodland Memorial Trust and the Wolverton World War I centenary twinning visit to Ploegsteert in Belgium in June.
Wolverton Town Band is interested in hearing from anyone who would like to play a brass instrument, whether they're a learner or someone with lots of experience. The band has a long and proud history going back over 100 years. Today, it is a friendly group of players who love playing music and want to keep the brass band tradition alive in Wolverton.
New members of any standard are always welcome. Rehearsals include a session each week for learners and anyone else who would like to join in. Membership is free and more information is available on the band's website at: http://www.wolvertontownband.org.uk/joinusitsfree.htm
