The much maligned English Nationals are taking place this Saturday at the Elgar Hall in Birmingham.
Eight bands will be competiting over two legs to see who claims the £4000 first prize and the invitation to the European Championships in Perth next year.
The bands will be playing a set test piece of Diversions on a Bass Theme (George Lloyd) which will be adjudicated by Philip Harper and Paul Norley as well as their own choice selections with Steve Sykes and Alan Morrison adjudicating.
The competing bands are:
- Black Dyke - Nicholas Childs
- Virtuosi GUS - John Berryman
- Reg Vardy - Russell Gray
- Redbridge - Jeremy Wise
- Pemberton Old Wigan DW Band
- Milnrow - Mareika Gray
- Hepworth - Michael Fowles
- Hammonds Saltaire - Morgan Griffiths
