The members of Great Yarmouth Brass, which celebrated 40 years of music-making last year, are ensuring that there is a future supply of brass players for its thriving Youth Band by setting up a Training Band for beginners.
A Brass Adventure Fun Day is being held on Saturday 1st March at Gorleston Baptist Church, Lowestoft Road, Gorleston from 10 am until 3 pm. The day is aimed at children aged 6 and up, but would-be brass players of any age are welcome, subject to places being available.
Those attending will be given the opportunity to try out various brass instruments, play some games, learn some notes, perhaps even mastering a tune, and it is hoped that the day will end with a short very informal concert for parents, families and friends.
The Brass Adventure Fun Day is being organised by members of Great Yarmouth Brass who have passed DBS checks, and is totally free of charge. Those attending just need to bring a packed lunch and a drink.
Places must be booked in advance. To book a place, or for any further information, please contact Penny Gilbert by telephoning 01502 713208 or by emailing penny.gybrass@aol.com
