Black Dyke Annual Awards Ceremony

At the final concert of the year in Huddersfield Town Hall on Sunday 22nd December, the Black Dyke Band presented their Annual Awards to two trombone players.

The Bandsman of the Year trophy, voted for by the players themselves was awarded to Adrian Hirst, the band’s bass trombone player for the last 21 years.

The Pondasher Trophy was presented to the band’s Principal Trombone Brett Baker who is about to complete his DMA Doctorate in Music at Salford University.
