Ahead of the forthcoming areas, Bakewell Silver Band has welcomed three players into the band room. New to the band is Joy Newbould who takes up her position on the horn bench, whilst Ken Fryer and Paul White return back to their home band on baritone and cornet seats respectively after known periods of absence. The band is also delighted to confirm the appointment of Julie Plant on solo horn.

On the recent additions, Band Chairman Ian Charlesworth commented, "This is great news for the band. We obviously knew of the expertise and capabilities of both Paul and Ken and with Joy's contesting experience and enthusiasm it puts the band in a great position for the future. Julie has done an outstanding job for us on solo horn and her appointment is yet another positive step for her and the band."
