Despite an arson attack on OXTED BAND’S band hut on the afternoon of Wednesday 5th October, causing damage to the rear of the band room, our AUTUMN CONCERT on Saturday 29th October at St John’s Church, Church Way, Hurst Green, Surrey, RH8 9EA at 7.30pm will go ahead as planned.

The theme of this year’s concert is CLASSIC BRASS. We shall not only be showcasing music from the great composers, but will also feature classics from the brass band repertoire, and modern classics from shows and the pop world. We are sure that there will be music to suit all tastes, and that there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Refreshments will be served at the interval, and tickets at £10 for adults (£5 for children under 12) will be available on the door.

The arson damage to the hut was not as bad as it could have been, and the fire brigade were on hand to put it out and limit it to the rear of the room. However the water used has caused a soggy mess of the room, and we need to assess what we have lost. Obviously we cannot rehearse there for a while, but the generosity and support of the local community has been very strong, and we have been given the use of the school hall at Holland School for rehearsals up until Christmas.
