Twenty bands competed in this popular contest at The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering where the adjudicators David Read, Stephen Roberts and Dennis Wilby listened the bands play Eric Ball's "A Kensington Concerto".
Newstead Brass and Sovereign Brass withdrew from the competition.
