2015 dates have been announced for the country’s largest non-competitive brass band festival.
The Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival will take place on 11th and 12th July 2015 on The Green at the Museum of Iron in Coalbrookdale, Shropshire.
Since its inception in 2004 the festival has grown year on year, with some 22 bands performing this year, including, for the first time, the Posaunenchor St Marien Waren Band from Muritz, Germany and the Cheshire Constabulary Brass Band and their excellent Drum Corps, who both brought something extra to the festival.
Neil Fury, chairman of the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival, said: “Every year we are amazed at how the numbers of brass players and followers attending the event keep increasing. And it’s now not just people in this country who are attracted to come, people overseas are hearing about the festival too.
“Over the coming months, as the plans for next year’s festival evolve, we will be posting details at www.ironbridgebandfestival.co.uk and people can get in touch with us through the website. Once again we will be inviting young musicians and composers to enter our annual competition, details of which can also be found on the website.”
