More news from Dinnington Colliery Band

We’ve dotted all the T’s and crossed all the I’s and got all the bureaucracy out of the way so we can now announce the line up for this year’s Whiston Festival of Brass.

10 bands will be marching to the village green “away from the Pub this year” each band giving around a 25 minute programme of entertainment.

The contest will take place in the picturesque Yorkshire village of Whiston near Rotherham, with its village green, thatched memorial barn, and three traditional public houses. Bands will march through the village to the contest venue where they will perform on the purpose built outdoor stage to a seated audience.

In addition to a fantastic marching band and an amazing competition, the village will host a multitude of family attractions including children’s rides and fun fair, craft and village style fate stalls, hog roasts, ice cream vans, BBQ's and food & drink, outdoor bards, tombola’s, raffles, competitions and lots more!

Picture the scene a fabulous day of musical entertainment and family socialising at the height of the English summer, culminating in the evening with a "Brass for all" concert featuring Hatfield Brass.

We look forward to welcoming you to a truly exciting day for all the family!

Whiston is located in South Yorkshire just off M1 Junction 33
